RESOURCES: Test Authorizations (FAA Only)
When you arrive at the testing center to take one of your FAA exams, you must provide them with your Authorization to Test (FAA form 8610-2). Without this document they will not be able to administer your test. Students pay test fees directly to testing centers/examiners.
Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Parts 65.71 and 65.77 establish the minimum eligibility & experience requirements for individuals who wish to obtain any of the Mechanic Certificates/Licenses issued by the FAA. All applicants for these license types must meet with an FAA "Maintenance Inspector" to obtain the appropriate Authorizations to Test. The inspector will determine whether or not to issue the authorization based on an applicant's experience.
